“Strike out cancer” events set to benefit Cougar baseball player
Coach Mike Warren and the Barton Community College baseball team invites the public to attend “Strike Out Cancer” fundraising events during the Cougar’s April 26 weekend series against Hutchinson Community College at Lawson-Biggs Field. All proceeds raised will benefit sophomore pitcher and 2011 Little River High School graduate Skylar Hill, who recently was diagnosed with cancer. Events on Friday, April 26, include a $5 gate admission, $1 hot dogs, and raffle ticket opportunities throughout the evening’s 6:30 p.m. nine-inning game versus the Blue Dragons. Games on Saturday, April 27, will have free gate admission with the public invited to participate in a free-will donation dinner at the ball park after the conclusion of the games. First pitch for Saturday’s seven-inning doubleheader is 1:00 p.m.
