Barton Baseball winds down regular season, finale events set for Sunday

Twenty eight games gone on the conference schedule but none are more important now for the Barton Community College baseball team than upcoming four games left in the regular season. In a tight Jayhawk West race, the 14-14 Cougars find themselves in sixth place but only one game out of third heading into this weekend’s finale against the 19-9 first place Saints of Seward County Community College. With Seward needing two wins to secure a share of the Jayhawk West title and the Cougars vying for a top four finish, high stakes will be on the line as the teams square off in a pair of 1:00 p.m. doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday at Lawson-Biggs Field.
