Earning his hall of fame honors as a Cougar from 1984-1986, Chadd helped Barton to fifty-two wins under former skipper Mike Warren's first two seasons at the helm. Chadd took his all-conference and all-region accolades on to Kansas State University earning 1st Team All-Big 8 and 2nd Team All-American honors.
Spending a brief time in the coaching ranks at Wichita State University and Kansas State, Chadd got into scouting within Major League Baseball. Beginning with the Florida Marlins in 1994, Chadd moved up to Regional Crosschecker in the Marlins' 1997 World Series championship year. Moving on to the Boston Red Sox organization from 2002-04, Chadd was a member of another MLB championship as the Red Sox captured the 2004 title.
No stranger to divisional titles and trips to the World Series, the Tigers hired Chadd from the Red Sox as its Vice President and Scouting Director where the former Bishop Carroll High School graduate in Wichita, Kansas, has remained in the Tigers organization scouting major league talent.
