Big innings doom Barton Baseball in doubleheader at Hutchinson

Take away two big innings going against the Barton Community College baseball team Saturday in Hutchinson and the results might have been different. Instead, the Cougars took two losses to the home Blue Dragons of Hutchinson Community College 8-4 and 13-3. Tied at three in the sixth inning of game one’s scheduled seven innings, the Blue Dragons put up five runs in the home half in taking the opener. Hutchinson would bury the Cougars in the second inning of game two tying a school record ten runs in a single inning going on to a 13-3 seven-inning run rule victory. The teams will wrap up the four-game series Sunday at Hobart-Detter Field with another twin bill beginning at 1:00 p.m.
