Barton’s Voinier named KJCCC Division I Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.
Maxence Voinier of the 5th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team has been named the 2024 season's inaugural KJCCC Division I Player of the Week.
Voinier picked up where he left off last year accounting for five points this past weekend leading the Cougars to a pair of season opening victories in Enid, Oklahoma.
On Friday, Voinier set up the eventual game winning goal before producing a second half insurance netter of the neutral site matchup against Eastern Oklahoma State College.
On the Cougars' return trip to Enid on Saturday, Voinier helped Barton produce its highest output over a fellow NJCAA opponent since 2019 by scoring a goal and added a distraction resulting in a teammate's goal during Barton's 9-1 victory over the host NOC-Enid Jets.
The 2-0 Cougars open conference play today with a 4:00 p.m. kick-off at Dodge City Community College against a Conquistador squad picked third in the league race but received one of the seven first place votes in the pre-season predicted order of finish.
In two days Barton begins a three-game home stretch beginning Friday with 10:00 a.m. kick versus Jefferson College followed by Sunday's same time kick-off against Trinidad State College. The Cougars then return to conference action to conclude the homestand on Wednesday, September 4, at 1:00 p.m. hosting Coffeyville Community College.
