Great Bend’s Welsch inks with Lady Cougars on national signing day

The Barton Community College women's basketball program proudly announces the signing of Great Bend High School's Lauren Welsch to its 2016 class of Lady Cougars on the first day of national signings.

Averaging nearly sixteen points her junior season, Welsch upped her output to 16.5 points in her senior campaign including a thirty-two point high game against Highland Park.   The 5'8" senior also averaged four rebounds while dishing out a team high three dimes per contest.   

"Lauren is a talented local product who will bring ball skills, the ability to score, and a tremendous amount of toughness to our women's basketball program here at Barton," said Lady Cougar Head Coach Trevor Rolfs. "A very talented young lady on the court and an even better person off of it, we are extremely excited to have Lauren become a part of our basketball family."
