A first half goal was all the 13th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer needed Saturday in Chanute as the Cougars picked up a 1-0 victory at Neosho County Community College.
The fourth shutout of the year improves Barton to a conference leading 5-0 record and 9-1 on the on the year while Neosho County is left searching for its first conference win dropping to 0-4 and 2-5 on the season.
Next for the Cougars is a Saturday 3:00 p.m. home game against Johnson County Community College.
Hinano Nakagawa registered the game winner for the Cougars just under ten minutes into the contest by converting a penalty kick for her first goal donning the Barton uniform.
Ashley Melendez pick up the victory in goal moving to 2-0 in net working the first half of action with Raianny Lopes worked the pipes in second half play as each recorded a save to protect the win.
