The No. 23 ranked Barton Community College women's cross country team returned to the trail competing Saturday in the Region VI Championships held at the Westar/Prairie Ridge Park Course in Hutchinson, Kansas. Returning to competition from a three week layoff in the schedule, Barton didn’t field a complete team but did have four Lady Cougars entered in the 5k race.
The Barton Community College women's cross country team finished 23rd in a field of forty-teams this past Saturday at the 28th Annual Chile Pepper Festival held in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The Barton Community College women's cross country team competed in their second meet of the season Friday in the Papa John’s Invitational hosted by Emporia State University. Held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course, the Lady Cougars didn’t field a full team in the 5k race but did place two freshmen in the top fourteen amongst a field of 125 runners from NJCAA, NAIA, and NCAA Division II levels.
The Barton Community College women's cross country team opened up their 2016 season Friday evening under the lights of Hutchinson’s Fun Valley Sports Complex in the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic. Competing in a field of 101 runners from NJCAA, NAIA, and NCAA Division II levels, the Lady Cougars didn’t field a full team in the three mile race but did place two freshmen in the top five as Mirena Goncalves took the title with Wilyeska Suarez grabbing the fifth spot.
